Bono Bridge

You are here Home  > Bridges >  Bono Bridge

The bridge was demolished in 2011, and the map shows its original location. According to local folklore, those who stood on the bridge and looked down at the railroad tracks below when a train was coming had the distinct feeling that the train was about to hit them. Apparitions and strange noises are said to occur in the area, erupting from alleged satanic rituals performed in the past.

  1. Been there many times. The train coming at you was really cool as it went under you and you felt the wind from it. Nothing paranormal ever happened. Not even a creepy feeling

  2. Just went there today. The bridge was destroyed a while back, but a friend of mine and I figured we’d head out there and see what was up. Some hicks living out there apparently since acquired the land and came out screaming at us to “get out of here.” Not sure about how haunted it is or was, but the unfriendly rednecks out there are certainly frightening (or, at least annoying) enough. Probably shouldn’t head out here, unless it’s late enough to where they wouldn’t be a problem.

  3. Attended Arkansas State in Jonesboro in the early 1970s and we went out there a lot. It was fun to watch the train come around the bend with the light shining right at you as though it would hit you, and then instead it went under the bridge. We never felt anything paranormal there, only an optical illusion that the train was coming right at you.
