Under a bridge on Bloomingdale Rd. there is said to be sightings of a teenage girl jumping off the bridge or walking around underneath it. People have also heard crying and screaming. It is said to be that in the 1970’s a teenage girl committed suicide by jumping of the bridge in front of an on coming train. Her reasons are unknown, but first hand account stories have been told i the town for years.

  1. It was July of 77 that a young lady named Sharon jumped in front of an eastbound Illinois Central freight at about 0300 in the morning after a fight with her boyfriend.

    Yep,my mom use to go to group meetings with sharon for depression.My mom was friends with her,she was heartbroken when she found out about it.

  3. I lived about 200 yards from this bridge since BEFORE it was a bridge early 1960’s, right across from the polo fields on the west side of Bloomingdale. Never been a suicide there, no girl jumped in front of a train, used to party under the bridge for years. scared the shit out of many people over the years though
