This is a private home and not open for visits, which is a shame because it is stunningly beautiful. Reports of hauntings are sketchy at best and hard to substantiate, but it’s a plantation home in Louisiana so it has to have at least one ghost, right?
Update: As of 2014, the house is now open for limited tours. See their website for more details.

Back when I was in school at Nichols State in the late 80’s or early 90’s, I was traveling from Houma to Thibodaux late one night. I saw a figure of what I believed to be a woman in a white, long flowing gown, walking through to front yard of this home. At the time, I thought it to be strange for someone to be walking around in the yard at 3:30 am or so. Later on I did some research and found out that other people have seen the same figure in the white gown around the property just as I had seen.
