I have been here with my husband before they made it an active mine. We had experiences all over this place including seeing two cowboys who had been guarding the gold. Unfortunently I heard they have turned this into an active mine again and visitors are no longer allowed.
Oh no, the city is still open to the public, but the mines are now guarded, so, you may visit the city, but not the mine.
They say 18 men were hung for dead there for steeling gold and/ or artifacts in the early 1900’s
There’s an awesome episode of this place on “Ghost Adventures”.
In 1999 I did a tour of the Vulture Mine and captured a full apparition of a ghost in the doorway of the Assay Office building. I sent the picture to a group to debunk ghost pictures and they are the ones that noticed the ghost in the doorway.
