Holding the distinction of being Arizona’s longest continuously operated hotel, the Copper Queen was constructed from 1898 to 1902 by the Phelps Dodge Corporation to serve as lodging for investors and dignitaries visiting its nearby copper mine.
The Copper Queen is allegedly haunted and has been featured on at least two the paranormal investigation shows; the 3rd season of Ghost Hunters and the 6th season of Ghost Adventures.

Stayed here only one night and the lights flickered, doors slammed, footsteps all night long when everyone in the room was asleep, breathing noises from behind next to me while i slept, belongings moved around throughout the night, and the sound of a small voice humming a tune.
I’ve been here many times for my family has worked here for a long time. I have only experienced one thing here and that was the shutters to the TV closing. Little Billy is the most famous ghost of the hotel. The story goes that he drowned in the San Pedro river and was left there by his parents but his ghost found his way back to the hotel they were staying in. He roams around the hotel and is wet. He plays with little toys kids leave for him in his room. My aunt has seen Billy’s ghost. It’s a very scary story. She was cleaning the rooms when one night she saw him running around and ran into a room. She went down to ask what room had children staying in them but no family’s with kids had checked in that night. She never returned to that level of the hotel again.
I stayed at the Copper Queen in 2015 and had two distinct events happen. I was laying out by the pool and one of the doors that was propped open just shut suddenly, these are heavy doors that aren’t moved by the wind. Also, I stayed on the reportedly haunted floor and got a phone call at 2am on the room phone but no one was at the end of it.
Recently stopped in Bisbee on our way back from Mexico for my kids to use the restroom. While in the courtyard in front of the hotel I clearly saw my youngest son run into the bathroom closing the big iron door behind him. I went after him telling him he didn’t have to close that door since it is a public bathroom with multiple stalls. When he comes around the corner from behind the little building asking why I called his name. I thought he was playing a joke on me and had come out a back door, but when I went around there was no door. No one else was in the bathroom my older son checked. I had not heard of any child spirits here so it caught me off guard. My whole family heard the door slam hard I was the only one who saw the kid zoom past pulling it shut.
