The 1917 residence of the former town surgeon is now a quaint bed and breakfast, and is rumoured to be haunted by a plethora of ghosts. The house was the scene of many extravagant parties held by the owner and his wife, and to this day guests staying at the inn have reported hearing phantom music, while others have seen a ghostly couple dancing. Other apparitions seen here include a friendly woman in a blue dress and a man carrying a leather doctor’s bag.

I stayed there – it’s haunted. I stayed in the Chauffer’s quarters…a small detached room from the house. It stands between the house and the abandoned hospital. I don’t believe in this stuff so I wasn’t expecting anything unusual. I was WRONG! I went to sleep just fine, but probably 10 minutes after I fell asleep something SLAMMED into the door. I mean it sounded like the door almost came off the hinges. I sprang form the bed….nothing was there. I couldn’t go back to sleep for a long, long time, but I eventually did. It was exactly 2:30 am when the wall decor from the room went flying off the walls. Two very heavy pieces of art clashed onto the tile floor in the middle of the room waking me from a sleep. I scrambled to find the light and was shocked to see these two metal fish weighing about 10 lbs each on the floor about 10 feet away from the wall where they were hanging!
The place is HAUNTED!
Jason – GREAT review! Please tell us more!
I was in the nurses quarters – back room. I’m was morning before breakfast and I was brushing my teeth. I shut the water off while I brushed. I was enjoying the beautiful views. When I turned back to the sink, the cold water turned on by itself. It was an old sink with two handles. I was at least 2 ft away. I was stunned. After breakfast I returned to my room and had to check the sink, still incredulous. The handle was not loose. It took force to move. I have never had an experience like this before— it’s still a sharp memory. I’m guessing it was a nurse. I thanked her fir the use of her room before leaving. Just in case.
