The former city hall is now an art museum, but former prison guards believe that the apparition of a prisoner and a heroic fireman still walk the hallways. Visitors have reported cold spots, disembodied footsteps, doors that open and close by themselves and objects that move by themselves from room to room.

Living in Anaconda in the later half of the 1950s, my family lived in a house somewhere in central- north- central Anaconda that may have had haunted events. My parents told my sister and I that decades before a woman living there murdered, and may have disposed of the bodies in a lye bath, of several men. However I can find no record of aby such event.
So, has anyone else heard this story? And what do you know about it?
Thank you.
Wayne I believe the house you are talking about once belonged to one of Anacondas’ serial killers Shoe Box Annie and her son. It was on the north side of Alder street off of Commercial.
I was a Docent at the Museum during the summer of 2014 During my time there I heard about the prisoner but didn’t see or hear anything. I even set what looked like a Doctors Jacket in a certain position nothing.
