Hose & Hound was a former fire station that is now a pub, and its ghost is, believe it or not, a monkey. Named either Barney or Jocko, depending on the story, the monkey was the pet of fire chief James “Cappy” Smart. The monkey was put down after it attacked a child, and since then, objects have been seen flying through the kitchen, the floorboards pound, and appliances turn on and off by themselves. Phantom horses also have been heard whinnying or felt breathing on witnesses in the stable.
