At the Fortress of Louisbourg (in French, La Forteresse de Louisbourg), events from the 1700s have left behind some ghosts. Witnesses say the apparitions of settlers who died in smallpox epidemics or soldiers who died in battle appear on the grounds or in the fort’s tunnels. The fort has been featured on Creepy Canada.
