Fort Revere, formerly Fort Independence, was renamed to honor patriot Paul Revere. It was used from the American Revolution through World War II and was decommissioned in 1947. A number of eerie experiences have been described by witnesses here, such as unexplained noises and whispers, and shadows that rush by or loom in doorways.

What kind of things have been reported? Is it truly haunted?
Sure is!!!!! I’ve had plenty of experiences there myself
the doors have been taken out long ago & all sounds bounce off the walls in tunnels, rooms much louder….there o window so open air sounds, birds, raccoons ,squirrels, skunks, possums ,coyotes & homeless people all go in the forts….
I go here all the time and I don’t hear noises or see ghosts.
SADLY THE FORT HAS BEEN THE VICTIM OF GRAFFITTI AND VAGRANTS, JUNKIES AND BLAND MUSIC…ITD BE GOOD FOR OPEN AIR THRATERE AS WELL OR EVEN A MOVIE SET….
on foggy days, it does get strange as the fog does not roll in.
I ve had plenty of paranormal experiences here myself and have spent a lot of time here the past 30 years.when looking down onto fort, the last passage all the way to the right is definitely the most haunted spot there from my own personal experience. You can feel your being watched, you can hear something running
up on you. If you do go in there far right passage be aware…my daughter and I were arm in arm because we know all about the forts, again because of experience, and not only did we hear something run up on us but we both felt it run right into our interlocked arms!! We were both terrified honestly! Maybe it’s because I’m a witch why we have experiences but it happens a lot. If you dont believe it, go there yourself at dusk and call out the spirits of the soldiers there and see what happens… dont say I didnt warn u though. Sage yourself before you get into your car before you go home!!!!!
