Egypt Road Bridge

You are here Home  > Bridges >  Egypt Road Bridge

The closed Egypt Road Bridge, or Crybaby Bridge, is haunted day and night by the sound of a crying baby. Legend has it that a baby went missing while its parents were fighting, and it fell over the side of the bridge. The scream of its mother and the crying of the baby are both heard in the area. The bridge was in the news in 2010 when an elderly woman was found strangled to death and burned nearby.

  1. Spent lots of time on Egypt road in my youth, never saw any evidence of a haunting, but the stories always keep circulating around. Walked to woods alone for an ecology study in college, the only spooky thing I found was evidence of trash being dumped in the wetlands.

  2. I grew up in the Salem/greenford area and I spent lots of time on Egypt road. I always heard the stories and it always felt rather ominous but I never encountered anything spooky. I now live in Texas and I sure do miss Ohio!!
