Birmingham 8 Theater, housed in a historic playhouse building, is rumored to have a ghost. In one incidence, employees had swept popcorn into piles on the floor, and a mysterious gust made them shift over, still in their piles, about 3 feet. Unexplained sounds and electrical anomalies also have been reported.

I heard foot steps when no one was around
I got locked in the batroom which had no lock!!!!
I cried for hours after seeing a movie here but had no idea why.
I used to work a couple stores south of the theater (in the early 70’s). The basements of all the stores were connected. I had to go in the basement to get stock and very often heard sounds, saw movement and had a very creepy feeling down there. I am sure it is haunted.
I was in the theater with my friends while watching a movie, please note no one was in the theater with us and we were in the top seats (looking over the whole room) we would make quiet giggles or comments to eatchother. While it was a quiet part I looked over and saw a man (not an employee) he told me that if we wouldn’t stop talking we must leave and that we were bothering him. After he disappeared, I looked over and tapped my friends and said guys did u just hear that? I was first shocked because we weren’t talking. My friends looked at me very confused and told Me was insane because their was no man! They thought I was making it up. It is haunted
I worked there in 1971-1972. On the second floor, there were rooms where the old stage actors used to change into their costumes. I was changing into my ushers uniform when I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and, thinking it was my friend I said, “Hurry Rich, you’re late!” As I looked out down the stairs, no one was there. In fact, after I walked down to the lobby, only the manager and I were in the still locked theater.
