SUNY Fredonia State College’s Igoe Hall is said to be haunted by a former student named Jimmy Igoe, the hall’s namesake, who drowned in Lake Erie on a fishing trip. He is said to slam doors, change TV channels, and tinker with lights, water faucets, and the elevators. The hall was built after Jimmy’s death, and students petitioned to have the hall named in his memory.

I was a student and Fredonia from 1979 to 1983. I stayed in Igoe Hall for my first 2 years on campus. I never experienced anything as those described. But I had dorm mates that did. So, is it haunted? Personally, I don’t think so. But if you ask some of my classmates, you’d get a different answer.
I was Jimmy Igoe’s roommate at Fredonia in the 69-70 year. He never was in Igoe Hall, so I don’t know why he would haunt it. I think he would be much more likely to haunt Alumni Hall, since he lived there with me. Room 210 I believe. If he did haunt Igoe Hall, you’d be lucky. He would be the kindest, humblest, most in-assuming ghost.
