The unusually pointy and turreted private home at 2309 Wichita St., made up of half-timbered gables, spires and rooftop decks, is rumored to be haunted, perhaps by former owner and former VA nurse Charles Fondow, who passed away in 2011 in a Barbados hospital at age 64 after becoming ill on a cruise.

  1. After looking at it on this site, I drove there out of boredom. When I got to the street, I started feeling really sick. And then when I got near the house (still in my car, on the street) I got a really bad feeling, I can’t explain it, but I never wanted to go back. Of course, now I feel like going back, because of the human’s retarded ability to forget pain and feelings. But I’ve never felt worse in my life. It was like I was going to die, but not exactly. It was much worse than impending doom.

  2. NO! there is no evidence of any kind to this story, I worked for the Medical Examiner for 24 years and we did make two homicide call on that very street three houses down from that location, It was 2:45 am on May 17th 2002, There were some people living in that house with out permission and another time we made a natural across the street on July 12th at 3:18 am, I spoke to a Houston Police officer about the sightings, He said he gets calls all the time about people seeing and hearing things, Once again,, No proof of evidence of any kind, There is a drug house on the next street over on Dowling Street, where people come here to fix or get in out the weather.

I am lead investigator of a paranormal team. How do we find out how to get info to be able to enter this house and do an investigation?

  4. Someone has actually bought the home and has changed it into a bed and breakfast and it is absolutely beautiful!

When my husband and I booked the room something told me I had seen the home before but I couldn’t figure out how. When we got to the house for our stay the person running the bed and breakfast gave us a tour of the home. I kept asking if the home had been on tv or had articles written about it and he just kept saying that he didn’t know anything about something like that. I could tell he did.

We stayed the night and I kept feeling someone standing next to me while I was trying to sleep. Finally had to ask him to please leave me alone so I could sleep. ‍♀️

As soon as we got home I looked it up on the web and found out that I was right! I had read about it many years before being one of the most haunted builds in Houston.

Needless to say I would go back there for sure. The staff was very nice and the way that they have taken the original owners plans for the house and made it come true is just truly amazing.
