Rumored to once have been a brothel, the tavern is believed to be haunted by a murdered prostitute named Emily. So the story goes, she and her daughter were killed by soldiers in the 1940s. Witnesses have been pinched, tapped, and watched by an unseen presence, and have heard the sounds of footsteps and a phantom pool game. Cold spots and hazy apparitions have been reported as well.

My dad used to work at the tavern back in the day. He used to always come back telling us these stories about how back in the wine room there was a tiny voice that he would always hear in the air vents. As much as this could be said to be rats, I know rats cant tell a man to go kill himself.
My husband took me here a year ago. I love haunted places, but he didn’t tell me this was the haunted place he’d been wanting to take me to. I went to the restroom and realized there was no toilet paper. I heard someone in the stall next to me, so I was going to ask her for some. About that time, I notice paper on the roll wedged further up, so didn’t need to ask. As I was washing my hands, I couldn’t help but notice no one in the stall next to mine, nor did I hear anyone leave.
When I went back to our table, my husband and the waitress were talking about someone named Emily. I interrupted their conversation to tell my husband about the weird thing that happened in the restroom. That’s when they both told me about Emily and how she haunts the first stall. True story and I have to say – I will make sure I don’t have to use the restroom before I go back again!
