At the 1913 Orpheum Theater, a deceased actor’s ghost is said to linger. Nicknamed Larry, the unknown and angry ghost was first noticed by living actors around 1960. Larry was known to blow fuses and drop sandbags onto living actors. And in 1972, a technical director heard a loud noise behind him, turned around, and there was a tin photo of a bearded man on the ground. He put it on his light board, but no one knew the man, and soon after the photo disappeared. It was believed to be Larry. Some say Larry was an actor who took his life after failing to land the part of Romeo in a production here.

This is actually eyeopening. I was in a production and our Director’s name was Larry. Coincidence? Probably. The production I was in was huge and I was only 10 at the time. We spent a lot of time in the basement and there were writings on the wall and it just felt eery.
When I took youth drama lessons in mid 60s, they reported strange lights and sounds in projection booth in balcony. Only one entry and always empty when checked.
When I was about eleven or so I was at a play camp. The play was 101 Dalmatians when we were doing our dress rehearsal and I saw a guy in the audience with a very pale and transparent completion I went off the stage and came back a minute or so later and he was gone. I asked our director if some janitor came to watch us and she said no. I was informed later on Larry the ghost when we were getting ready for our first performance.
