Strawberry Hill Museum

Strawberry Hill Museum is housed in a mansion built in 1887 and was inhabited by the Scroggs family. In 1919 it opened as a children’s orphanage and day-care run by the Sisters of St. Francis of Christ, which lasted until the 1980s. It is now a museum, and is haunted by many entities, locals say. A ghostly Lady in Red appears and always asks the same question: “Where’s the house of the priest?” Then she disappears. She wears 1940s red clothes and red hair and sometimes trails blood. She is said to have been a homeless woman taken in by the nuns, and she died of a botched abortion. Several other spirits reside here as well; witnesses have described other apparitions, electrical anomalies, the smell of baby powder, footsteps, music, singing and cold touches.
