In the 1900s, tragedy struck when a young boy was killed when a bullet ricocheted during a Wild West gun show. His spirit, along with that of the founder O.K. Guyer, who died the same year his opera house opened, are said to haunt the building. Guyer’s funeral was held in the auditorium. Witnesses have reported dressing room lights that eerily turn on one by one, banging noises that come from the back of the auditorium, sudden temperature changes, doors that close by themselves, growling noises in the light booth, and an outline of a person seen through the backstage windows.
