This building was designed by architect Edward Sibbert in the 1930s, an excellent example of the Art Deco style. It was originally an “S.H. Kress and Co.” five and dime store (hence the name “Kress” that’s still seen at the top of the building). According to David Whitehead in his “Field Guide to Haunted Orlando,” it is considered to be a paranormal hot-spot by Central Florida ghost hunters.
The building is now occupied by “Kres Chophouse”, a highly rated steakhouse.
