The 72-foot tall lighthouse, built around 1812, is said to be haunted by Annie, the daughter of a former lightkeeper who was a widower who was raising the 7- or 8-year-old on his own. One day as the two were returning to the lighthouse with supplies, a violent storm hit. Their tiny boat began to sink, so the man tied his daughter to his back to keep her safe. After a struggle in the rough water, they finally made it ashore. Exhausted but glad they were safe, the lightkeeper fell asleep with his daughter still strapped to his back. When he woke, he found that his daughter had drowned. The heartbroken lightkeeper soon began neglecting his duties, wandering around calling for his daughter, and falling to his knees in grief. Annie’s ghost is believed by seamen to be a guardian angel who comes aboard to warn sailors of hurricanes and other disasters.

This story was actaully pretty sad I feel bad for both of them the daughter drowned while the father not knowing that his daughter (annie) died because she drowned that’s just sad. Its amazing how something so sad can become a great legend. That’s amazing! B-)
