Named for the Choctaw word for “happy home,” the mansion is haunted by “Archie” Archer, one of former owner Richard Archer’s daughters. Since 1966, her apparition has been seen wearing a long brown dress in the parlor or dining room. A presence has been felt inside the slaves’ quarters as well. The historic mansion is open for tours.
