Thought to be build sometime before 1861, this house was the site of a Civil War battle, during which a wounded Union soldier crept beneath the stairs and died. Reports say his blood is still visible there, and residents hear footsteps in the upstairs part of the building–even though the second story burned many years ago and was never rebuilt!

I can say that it is haunted. I lived there in 1992 thru 1993 and the stain is still in the hallway under the stairs and yes, you could hear footsteps and sometimes hear voices. It was never a scary presence, but you always knew you were not completely alone!
Krystal, could you tell me any scary stories about this place?
