Built in the early 19th century, and at one time the largest mansion in the entire United States, Hyde Hall is now said to be haunted by the wife of its original owner, George Clarke. The story goes that upon George’s death, the son inherited the house and threw his mother out – as she was leaving she swore an oath that she would forever haunt the house. According to some, that’s an oath she’s kept.
The house was featured on TV’s “Ghost Hunters” on October 30th, 2013, during which some very interesting video evidence was discovered. A video camera picked up a sudden and inexplicable bright flash of light against the wall of one room, where the crew swears there were no known light sources that could explain it away.
