The Southern Oaks Inn was originally a home built by Charles P. Ray in 1918, who died here in an upstairs room, and that’s who the current owners believe haunt the place. Apparitions of a man and woman have been seen, and strange footsteps have been heard. Reports from workers here say loaves of bread have been tossed through the kitchen area and furniture is moved repeatedly. The ghosts are said to play many practical jokes. The inn, which is for sale at the time of writing, no longer takes overnight guests but is a location used for weddings.

Judy and I have lived in the house for 17 of the 20 years that we’ve owned the property. IF, there’s spirits here, we haven’t been able to get any work out of them. It makes for some good stories at halloween though.
