In the early 1970s the theater director is said to have fallen down the spiral staircase backstage and hit his head, after which he suffered mood swings. He then was said to have committed suicide in the sound booth, by loading real bullets into a prop pistol. People have experienced uneasy feelings in his old office, and in the mid-1980s his phantom form began to be seen around the theater.
Also, the Student Union building is said to be haunted by the ghost of a woman who is said to have hanged herself. The woman, who wears 1930s garb, has also been seen in the theater.

Yes, I experienced both these theater ghosts in the late 1980s. The ‘director’ spirit likes to pull pranks on people on the main-stage and back stage, and many of us saw the ‘woman in the back with the funny hat’ sitting during rehearsals (back house right). She would just appear, we never saw her enter or leave.
SL Case
When I lived on the first floor of Hannon Hall in the late 1980s, sometimes we’d hear knocks on our window at night. My room was on the inside, which surrounded the courtyard. My roommate’s bed was by the window and it would wake her up. She never looked outside but I did. Nothing was ever there.
Can confirm, hannon is still haunted. I live there now and tonight my locked door opened at 12:35am with nothing there. Third floor.
Hey there, currently staying in hannon and my friends just experienced the same thing. Would you happen to remember what room number you stayed in?
The ghost stories at Montana State University are really creepy, especially the one about the theater director. It makes you wonder how many people have had weird experiences there. Speaking of experience, sometimes school can be overwhelming, and when you’re stuck with too many assignments, it can be hard to keep up. I’ve found that using resources like https://edubirdie.com/essay-writers-for-hire can really help when you’re in a pinch. There you can hire an essay writer, which will greatly simplify tasks. Anyway, I can’t imagine how creepy it is to see a ghost in a theater!
