The building was the town library until 1985. According to stories told by locals, one day in the 1960s a regular patron named Hazel visited the library. She was seen walking through the rooms by patrons and employees alike. However, it was soon realized that Hazel had passed away in a fire at 4 a.m. the same morning.

I saw the same thing when I went there a year ago…..I mean she looked so pale and like she wasn’t lost and not wondering. Then I was staring and then when I barely blinked she disappeared.
I felt like I was being watched by something here. It was as if she didn’t want me there.
We went on a Haunted weekend tour. We started here, we spoke to several employees about paranormal activity. Several were not aware of the story. Although they (three separate individuals) spoke of alarms being triggered when no one was on site, items being moved in the currators section, and the feeling of being watched or followed. While we we were there I felt as though there were “cold spots”.
Years ago I would take regular trips here with family members… I always had felt a strange presence here, especially after seeing a woman touch a statue and vanish.
