    1. I grew up a mile away from the dixmont state hospital.I remember very well when it was closed in 1984.from84-90 I was in there numerous times.one things for sure.I’ve seen demons and ghosts.and the land.they won’t be able to build on it.ever.To much negative energy that will never go away.

    2. It has long since been torn down to make way for a failed walmart project. During the clearing for walmart there was a huge landslide that closed RT65, the railroad and the landslide extended to the Ohio River.
I was in there many times and was even in the tunnels underneath and never felt or seen anything.

..and NO the landslide was not caused by demons, it was caused by faulty engineering and underground springs.

    3. As a teen, when I drove by this closed down old mental hospital I never understood why I would feel so off and in a very low mood. Years later I was told of the history but since it has been torn down and I pass by it doesn’t have any effect on me….very strange.

    4. I grew up in Emsworth. I remember one year, I was home alone with my mom and a man came knocking at the back door. My mom, being so naive, let the man in and made him a sandwich. (He looked like he was homeless.) My mom called the police and they came to pick him up. Apparently, he escaped from Dixmont State Hospital, and everyone was out looking for him.

    5. Oh, I just remembered! Employees from the local Shop-N-Save use to play softball in the Dixmont State Hospital field. I played short-stop! Creepy!
