The home where Lizzie Borden lived is now a bed-and-breakfast. The historic house was the site of the famous double axe murder of Lizzie Borden’s parents, and is said to be haunted. Witnesses have reported apparitions and unexplained noises.

I was required to do a forensics project for a class years ago, and I decided to research the Lizzie Borden case because it’s fascinating, plus it’s interesting to see how far we’ve come in forensic science.
I went to the Fall River Library and spent hours researching and photocopying material. I went to the cemetery, only to find it closed. I then went to the house, which was not open as a bed and breakfast at the time. I decided to take a few pictures of the house (I actually had been taking pictures all along). This was back before smart phones and digital cameras were too expensive for a college kid like me to buy.
I developed the roll, which came out with crystal clear pictures – except for the ones that I took of the house. One was covered in fog, however the crackheads waiting for the bus that I photographed standing in front of the house came out clear. The rest of the pictures came out looking like slime covered part of the house. However, the people in the front were untouched.
